Context
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Head of Programs and Policy, the National Outreach and Visibility Officer will be responsible for supporting visibility (including EU visibility), public information and outreach activities, including relations with the media and the press and responding to media inquiries. The successful candidate will be required to ensure implementation of visibility requirements and materials/tools relating to project activities and achievements within the mission.

Organize workshops, community engagement sessions, and events tailored to the local context. Create multilingual outreach materials in French, English, and relevant local languages to ensure accessibility and inclusivity. Monitor and evaluate the success of outreach initiatives, integrating lessons learned into future plans.Communication and Visibility
Verify that all communication and outreach materials meet EU visibility and IOM branding standards. Collaborate with the Communications Unit to produce high-quality materials that highlight the organization’s achievements and project outcomes. Document best practices and success stories, ensuring alignment with donor expectations and showcasing IOM’s impact. Maintain a repository of visual assets (photos, infographics, reports) for use in external communication efforts. Develop monitoring tools to assess the effectiveness of partnerships and outreach initiatives. Prepare and disseminate periodic reports to donors and stakeholders, emphasizing results achieved. Ensure that project activities adhere to agreed timelines, deliverables, and compliance requirements. Utilize feedback mechanisms to enhance the quality of partnership and outreach strategies. Maintain an archive of reports, success stories, success of outreach initiatives and data to support future initiatives and audits. Education Master’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, Political Science, or other related social sciences field from an accredited academic institution; or Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience. Skills in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, project management, or statistical applications are highly desirable. Relevant professional experience in outreach, communication, partnership development, or stakeholder engagement. Proven track record of managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, private sector actors, and community-based organizations. Demonstrated experience in technical writing and advanced use of Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience in organizing and facilitating events and workshops tailored to diverse audiences. Track record of designing and implementing community outreach initiatives, especially with vulnerable populations. Sensitivity in handling confidential information and working effectively with marginalized groups. Strong operational, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work harmoniously in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to prioritize tasks under pressure, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Skills Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken (professional proficiency required). Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and negotiation skills. Strong presentation and public speaking abilities for diverse audiences. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong report writing and documentation capabilities.
