Background UNRWA delivers essential human development and humanitarian services to Palestine refugees across its five areas of operation. These services include education, healthcare, relief and social services, infrastructure and camp improvement, microfinance, and emergency response. The Central Support Services Division (CSSD) at UNRWA HQ Amman is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to UNRWA’s programmes. Its mandate includes procurement, travel, facility and asset management, and other administrative functions. CSSD currently consists of 70 staff members and plays a central role in maintaining efficient and high-quality service delivery 2. Objective of the Internship The internship provides a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in business management and supply chain. The selected intern will work within the Policy and Compliance and Monitoring unit (PCM) and administration unit and procurement heads to support ongoing projects and contribute to the enhancement of administrative processes 3. Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the PCM and Procurement Team Lead and in close collaboration with other CSSD staff, the intern will be responsible for the following tasks: • Support admin management operations, including updating the newsletter, support in drafting reports and editing documents • Assist the admin management focal point in collecting data, tracking information, and responding to internal queries • Liaise with other CSSD units and divisions on admin management and general services • Support in preparing and maintaining procurement catalogues, ensuring accurate data entry and consistent formatting for easy reference and visualization • Draft correspondence, internal reports, and communication materials for various stakeholders • Collect and analyze data related to facility and asset management and support the development of visual presentations and reports • Support in following up on action point from the head of unit meetings • Support in project in different departments and follow up • Provide administrative and logistical support for meetings, conferences, training, and seminars organized by the General Services team • Perform other duties as required 4. Supervision and Performance Evaluation The intern will be supervised by the PCM and Procurement Team Lead, who will provide orientation, guidance, and regular feedback throughout the internship. Performance appraisals will be conducted mid-way and at the end of the internship to support learning and development. Qualifications/special skills5. Required Qualifications: Education: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: • Be currently enrolled in a graduate (bachelor’s or equivalent) programme in economics, business administration, logistics, supply chain management, international trade, admin management, international relations, law, political science, computer science, literature and editing, languages or a related field. Experience: • Applicants to the UNRWA Internship Program are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required • No prior work experience is required • Previous coursework, internships, or project work related to facilities management, logistics, or property administration is desirable • Fluency in English - written and spoken is required • Writing skills Competencies • Analytical thinking and problem-solving • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks • Demonstrated organizational and coordination abilities 6. Duration and Working Conditions This is a full-time internship for 6 months, based in Amman 7.
