IOM has been present in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) since 1992, providing life-saving assistance and medical evacuations for war-affected populations. Following the end of the conflict, IOM expanded its activities to the return of refugees from abroad and to assist BiH nationals resettling in third countries. Together with the international community, IOM continues to assist the population in BiH in rebuilding their lives and working for a better future. At the local level, IOM works with communities, authorities, minorities, and informal groups on several issues affecting long-term prospects for mobility, development and human rights. Over the years, this has enabled the IOM Mission in BiH to establish excellent relations with community leaders, including youth and women, and be recognized as an organization that brings effective changes in people’s lives. The Senior Project Associate will be working directly under the leadership of the Head of Mobility Pathways and Migration Governance and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in close coordination with the Western Balkans Senior Program Coordinator. The Senior Project Associate/Project Coordinator (Mobility Pathways) will be responsible and accountable for supporting the implementation of IOM programming under our mobility pathways portfolio, with a focus on labor mobility and diaspora. The Senior Project Associate will serve as a key member of the project team, responsible for coordinating, implementing and monitoring programming activities. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
All duties and responsibilities will be carried out in strict adherence to IOM policies and guidelines, including those related to confidentiality and data protection.

LanguagesFor this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written) and one of the three official languages spoken in BiH.
