Background and Organizational Context
The Security Information Operations Centre (SIOC-Beirut), managed by United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), has been established to provide security support to the UNCT in Lebanon, North of the Litani River (NLR) on a 24/7/365 basis respectively according to country SRM-Ms, the framework of accountability in support of Designated Official, Security Management Team, Area Security Coordinators and Security Cell. In addition, emergency response through 24/7 UNDSS SIOC Beirut covering the entire country in case of serious incident involving any UNSMS personnel and recognized dependents.
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of SIOC Supervisor and the operational direction of the Deputy Chief Security Adviser (DCSA) and the overall direction of the Chief Security Adviser (CSA), the SIOC Operator provides support in performing a variety of tasks related to the SIOC daily functions, ensuring accuracy of information and maintaining high level of coordination. The SIOC operator works in close collaboration with all UN agencies’ staff and Security officials of the Local authorities.

Requirements
Education:
Secondary Education is required; or University degree in Computer Science, Business, Public Administration, or any related fields will be given due consideration but not a requirement.Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
Minimum 5 years with secondary education or 2 years with a bachelor’s degree of progressive relevant experience in the security and/or emergency response field. Experience in handling security/incident database is required. Knowledge of the use of information management and strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Access) is required. Skills in handling information and capacity to articulate the information management requirements of complex situations is required. Prior experience in Security Information and Operation Center with the UN system or an international NGO is desired. Additional knowledge of the UN system is desired. Knowledge of HF and VHF radio operation is desired.Language:
Fluency in English and Arabic. Competency in French is an asset.Expected Demonstration of Competencies
