Context:

Within the IOM Jordan Mission (Gaza OPT), the Programme Support Unit (PSU) is a cross-sectoral unit working closely with all thematic units to support the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of projects and other initiatives. The unit coordinates closely with HQ and regional colleagues, as well as external counterparts and donors to support quality and well-coordinated programming and oversight. This includes supporting the implementation and monitoring of the mission-wide IOM Jordan strategy.

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programmes and the direct supervision of the Programme Support Officer, and in close coordination with the Project Support Unit Coordinator, the Senior Programme Support Associate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of programming across projects and programmes in OPT.

Support PSU in research and drafting of project proposals, and in preparing for meetings with PMs and donors.

Provide timely inputs to the IOM project management system (PRIMA) in support of the project development process.

Support the PSU in maintaining information tools required to track service delivery and identify gaps, including reports, mapping, spreadsheets, and others as required.

Support budget monitoring and timely implementation of projects by helping to organize the collection, processing, analysis, documentation of project data for reporting purposes, and by contributing to a systematic approach in data management.

Assist in drafting and coordinating communications and advocacy products, such as talking points, briefs, newsletters, presentations, and key messages, as required.

Assist in reviewing cross-cutting issues such as gender, children, environment and accountability to affected populations, and in reflecting these considerations during programme development and implementation.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education

Bachelor’s degree in international relations, Political or Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Law or a related field from an accredited academic with four years of relevant professional experience 

High school diploma with six years of relevant experience. 

 

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

 

Experience: 

Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, accountability, or programme support within government, non-government, or international organization.Familiarity with community feedback mechanisms and accountability processes.Experience supporting third-party monitoring (TPM) activities is desirable.

Prior working experience with UN agencies, INGOs, and NGOs is an asset.Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong reporting, writing and research skills.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural and national backgrounds.

Proficient use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Languages Fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Arabic is desirable
