Background
SOC is established to support the safety and security of personnel, premises, assets and operations working for the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS). SOC operates on 24/7 basis. SOC monitors, facilitates and coordinates the data and voice communications and applications using the Security Communications System (SCS).
Other responsibilities include monitoring the available channels of early warnings, e.g. mass media or surveillance capabilities, facilitating interaction with security interlocutors/ emergency response structures of Government of Iraq, maintaining administrative data supporting security communications, such as aggregating contact data for UNSMS personnel, offices, vehicles, and emergency services. SOC supports UNSMS crisis coordination and response effort.
This position is located in the UNDSS office in Baghdad / Iraq, locally administered by the UNDP and is financed by the Local Cost-Shared Security Budget to support all the above, with specific focus on the facilitation of the interaction with GoI security counterparts, such as National Operations Centre (NOC), responsible for providing clearances of different activities and movements, providing Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) escorts for UN operations and movements across Iraq, as applicable.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational:
Security Opeational Support, including liaison and coordination of matters relating to UN personnel on mission.
Maintaining an enabling secure environment for the facilitation and conduct of UN operations and program delivery.
Maintaining and updating database for staff information and presenting reports when needed.

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization, and Supports activities of UNDSS Iraq as required, including surge deployment to other regions within Iraq.
Institutional Arrangement
Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of SOC or OIC, the Security Operations Centre Clerk working in SOC will be responsible for the above mentioned aspects to contribute into enabling safe conduct of activities by UNSMS entities in Iraq.
