UNOPS Myanmar is one of UNOPS’ leading offices in Asia, acting as the fund manager for some of the largest development programmes in the country. In addition, UNOPS is the Principal Recipient for the Global Fund in Myanmar and for the Global Fund’s regional artemisinin-resistance initiative towards the elimination of Malaria, which works to accelerate progress toward malaria elimination in the Greater Mekong sub-region. UNOPS provides procurement, infrastructure, and project management services to a wide range of organizations in the country, including international development partners, other UN agencies and INGOs. UNOPS plays a critical role in ensuring that the quality of services provided to its partners meets stringent requirements of speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

The Nexus Response Mechanism is a programme initiated by the EU aimed at contributing to Myanmar lasting peace and national reconciliation, security, stability and sustainable development without missing humanitarian needs. Its actions are focused on providing support to conflict-affected populations, displaced populations, host communities, and returnees by strengthening the humanitarian-development-peace nexus, linking relief with rehabilitation and development.
Reporting to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Nexus Response Mechanism (NRM), the Monitoring and Evaluation Intern will support a range of tasks related to programmatic research, data collection and management, report preparation, documentation, and general administrative duties. The intern will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the NRM Secretariat’s monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities by assisting in both the research and operational aspects of the program.
Functional Responsibilities
The main functions of the Programme Management Intern (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) include:
Assist in gathering and analyzing information related to field projects, ensuring relevant insights are compiled for reports and decision-making.
Take minutes during relevant meetings, manage records and documentation, and ensure accurate and organized documentation management
Support in documentation management processes to support better information management.
Support in implementation of project and programme management best practices
Support in the harmonization of NRM templates and roll out
Assist in rolling out of capacity building and training plan on programme management
Support in the design and roll out necessary systems and processes to strengthen programme management
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Fluency in English and Myanmar language is required.

For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses ( they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS. Refreshers or new mandatory courses may be required during your contract. Please note that you will not receive any compensation for taking courses and refreshers.
