Work LocationSWITZERLAND Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe consultancy services are for the Beyond Lab, located in the Office of the Director-General, United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The selected consultant is expected to start on 1 March 2026, for a period of 6 months. Under the overall supervision of the Director of the Beyond Lab, the incumbent will perform the following duties: 1. Partnerships and resource mobilization - Contribute to the design and implementation of an innovative and sustainable business model and financing strategy for the Beyond Lab, reshaping its partnership and financial architecture and evolving its business model into a fit-for-purpose social innovation entity. - Develop and support creative partnership and resource mobilization strategies for key initiatives and projects, working closely with the Beyond Lab Director and team and engaging strategically with Member States, foundations, the private sector, academia, research institutions, and innovation entities. - Identify, analyze, and pursue partnership and funding opportunities through regular horizon scanning and mapping, including the exploration and application of innovative partnership and financing models such as cost-recovery, fee-for-service, tailored funding mechanisms, and crowdfunding. - Support high-quality funding proposals, partner and donor reporting, and external representation of the Beyond Lab, including maintaining and strengthening partner relationships, ensuring visibility, and representing the Lab in relevant forums, conferences, and media engagements. 2. Cross-programmatic support - Provide coordinated programmatic support across the Beyond Lab’s flagship initiatives, including the Beyonds Challenge, Futures Balance, and the Youth Moving Beyond GDP initiative. - Serve as the focal point of the “Spillover Innovation” Learning Journey, ensuring timely delivery, quality outputs, and alignment with the Beyond Lab’s strategic objectives and partnerships. 3. Strategic communications, outreach and coordination - Coordinate the Lab’s communication activities, especially with regards to the design and implementation of advocacy and outreach campaigns, in close collaboration with team members, to engage stakeholders, increase visibility of Lab key initiatives and projects, and inspire action for long-term sustainability. - Support the Lab’s communications and outreach efforts by developing clear, compelling narratives and overseeing partner-focused content and impact-driven storytelling aligned with the Lab’s communications and branding strategy. - Support engagement with traditional and non-traditional media and communications stakeholders by pitching story ideas, proposing formats, drafting talking points, and managing interactions as required. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international relations, business, development studies, social innovation, or a related field is required. A minimum of two years of experience in the field of programme management, outreach, advocacy, programme support or other related area is required. Prior project or programme management experience is required. Prior resource mobilization or investor acquisition experience is desirable. Prior experience working in the United Nations is desirable. Prior experience working on innovation is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working knowledge of the United Nations. For this position, fluency in English is required.
