POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the S. Manager for Programs and Partnerships, the Program Manager manages the administrative, program, MEAL and technical operations of overseeing the English language training program implemented in three sites as well as overseeing the work of the Program EL Coordinator and the Program Assistant to support the daily implementation processes of the program. S/He leads communication, planning, quality management, and overall implementation of the program. S/He will conduct field visits to the three sites in Jordan on a regular basis for support, quality assurance, and monitoring and evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Duties:

  • Oversees all aspects of the program, and handles the implementation of language and training program on behalf of Amideast ensuring that Amideast and program objectives are met
  • Coordinates classroom monitoring with the Program EL Coordinator and instructors and oversees and coordinates quality assurance activities, including program and curricula reviews, assessment reviews, student achievement tracking, and timely reporting to the donor/partner
  • Collaborates closely with other Amideast departments, including regional experts, for support as needed
  • Prepares reports and annual plans, as required by donor/partner
  • Monitors program progress and ensures program outputs are in line with previously agreed objectives to the satisfaction of the client
  • Conducts periodic QA visits to program sites, recommending actions to management, if any;
  • In coordination with the EL Coordinator and EL Experts at Amideast, the PM contributes to the creation of new course offerings, the development of tailored curricula, and the selection of appropriate assessment means
  • Supports in developing systems for program and student tracking and monitoring
  • Supports the Program EL Coordinator in finalizing the trainers’ assignments and schedules
  • Prepares contract requests for all trainers in coordination with the Program EL Coordinator and the Program Assistant
  • Oversees the completion of continuous monitoring, quality assurance and evaluations of instructors
  • Leads the efforts to prepare any update de-briefs and meetings with the donor and/or partners
  • Evaluates feedback gathered by evaluations and recommends improvements/adjustments

  • Review program financial performance and adjust indicators as necessary in coordination with Finance, Senior Management and Country Director
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor or that arise during program implementation

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, English language, or a related field
  • Minimum of 9 years, 5 years in a supervisory/management position of relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of English language teaching methods, approaches, and materials
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and donor/partner reporting
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment planning is preferred
  • Extensive understanding of life and culture in the United States
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of current trends in ESL/EFL and ESP
  • Proficiency in English is C2 and above(CEFR Level Alignment)
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Native Speaker
  • Knowledge of Jordanian society, including interests and needs of target communities
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office
  • Must possess advanced interpersonal skills such as strategic thinking, time management, prioritizing responsibilities, problem-solving, cross-cultural understanding, conflict resolution, and excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
  • Presenting an approachable and professional demeanor

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

Up to 70% business travel inside Jordan may be needed to support the Program as needed.
