Join the CERN Events Operations team as a local events coordinator!

CERN has an opening for an Early Career (Origin) Graduate in the Visitor and Events Operations (VI) section in the Science Gateway Operations (SG) group in the International Relations (IR) sector.

As a local events coordinator you will organize events for the general public on the CERN sites and specifically in the CERN Science Gateway, in the local area as well as online. Aimed at promoting STEM subjects and raising awareness on the Laboratory's activities, these events are targeted to a curious audience of all ages and all levels of knowledge.

CERN Science Gateway (https://sciencegateway.cern) is an emblematic education and outreach facility that opened in October 2023. It enables people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in the discoveries, the science and the technologies of CERN.

You will be responsible for planning, organising, promoting and delivering events and activities such as:

Good interpersonal skills, excellent ability to work in teams, adaptability, creativity and curiosity;Flexibility in working hours: need to occasionally work during nights, Sundays and public holidays; • mastery of IT tools for organizing and promoting events;Any proven experience in the following fields would be an asset:Facilitating science events;Website development and maintenance (Wordpress, Drupal 10);Knowledge of the Greater Geneva area educational and cultural environments;Creating virtual events;Fluent in both English and French.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Events Management, Public Relations, etc (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
