To achieve the Paris climate targets, a transport transition and extensive decarbonisation of transport by 2050 is necessary. As part of the GIZ’s Infrastructure and Mobility cluster, the Transport and Climate Change team aims to enable the rapid development of zero emission transport systems to shape a liveable and just future by providing advisory services, knowledge exchange, peer learning, data-driven insights to partners in countries of the Global South. Most projects are funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and are implemented on the African Continent, in Latin America and in Asia.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and detail-oriented intern with a keen interest in sustainable transport policy and proven digital communication skills. For this role, you should enjoy putting creative ideas into practice every day in an agile, fast and conscientious manner and work efficiently, solution-orientated and independently. During the internship, you will perform the following tasks:
Assisting project teams in research, analysis and technical evaluations, primarily in the areas of transport and climate, urban mobility, digitalisation and open data as well as vehicle efficiency standards Supporting the external and internal communication of the \"Changing Transport\" brand by creating and maintaining content for the website changing-transport.org, the social media channels and newsletters Supporting the planning and implementation of online events in the areas of communication, programme design, and participant management Conception and implementation of online campaigns Providing input and support for specialist consulting services on international climate and transport policy issues Supporting the Transport Data Commons Initiative (https://tdc.unece.org) in stakeholder management and in the further development of a database prototype Supporting analysis of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) in transport to achieve the Paris climate targets in cooperation with partner organisations for the \"Tracker for Climate Strategies in Transport\" (www.changing-transport.org/tracker) and its further development (text mining) Supporting the project team with administrative tasksGIZ is a signatory of the Diversity Charter.
