Job-ID: V000061406 Location: Bonn Assignment period: 05/12/2025 - 11/11/2025 Field: Trainees Type of employment: full-time Application deadline: 03/23/2025The global project \"Geodata for Development - Supporting the Land Degradation Neutrality Initiative of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO-LDN)\" (GV D4D4LDN) works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Through the GEO-LDN initiative, it supports actors of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in the use of geodata for planning, monitoring and decision-making processes for sustainable land management and is divided into four areas of work: (1) The GEO-LDN Secretariat with its coordination, networking and public relations work; (2) Development of a modular and interoperable system of geodata and decision support tools for LDN; (3) Capacity building, in particular development of a postgraduate study program and web-based offerings; (4) Knowledge and experience exchange, e.g. through annual dialogue forums. e.g. through annual dialog forums. The trainee position will work in the areas of capacity building, communications, stakeholder engagement and general project management support.
During your internship you will have the following tasks, among others:
Contribute to the creation of knowledge products, such as recommendations for the UNCCD and the development of BMZ factsheets as well as country-specific factsheets in collaboration with relevant partners Support internal and external communication for the GEO-LDN Secretariat: gathering and organizing relevant content, creating content, maintaining the website, and producing newsletters and social media posts (experience with WordPress is a plus) Assistance in developing a new sitemap for the GEO-LDN website Systematic monitoring of social media posts from relevant partners as well as other GEO initiatives and flagship projectsGIZ is a signatory of the Diversity Charter.
