Under the direct supervision of the National Information and Communication Technology Officer and in close coordination with the Global ITC service center in Manila, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the activities of the ICT unit in Jordan offices.  In particular:

  • In coordination with the National ICT Officer, supervise a group of Senior ICT Assistant and ICT Assistant team members, provide guidance to the team members, and oversee their day-to-day work. 
  •  Ensure that all user support requests are addressed timely and accurately meeting agreed SLAs with end-user community and OLAs with relevant departments in the mission. 
  •  Ensure the implementation of IOM ICT Standards, Policies, and guidelines, as well as other programees’ guidelines.
  •  Coordinate the implementation of planned technology upgrades for network, systems and applications; including servers and WAN/LAN; and maintain and ensure availability and capacity of existing network, systems and applications (core services) in coordination with the Global User Support. 
  • Install, configure, implement and administer network connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wireless access points/VPN/Servers (physical and virtual) in line with latest IOM ICT standard.
  • In close coordination with National ICT officer and global ICT team,  coordinate planned technology upgrades for network, systems and applications; including servers network equipment ((on-premises and Cloud), WAN, and LAN; Maintain and ensure availability and consistent serviceof existing network, systems and applications (core services)).
  • Undertake daily monitoring and maintenance of systems and networks (LAN, WAN, VPN, VOIP), carry out analysis performance identify problems of network, systems and recommend solutions to enhance functionality, reliability, and/or usability to ensure uninterrupted service of mission-critical servers and systems.
  • Contribute to the Backup and Disaster Recovery Plans for mission databases and other ICT related services. Manage and monitor completion and accuracy of server’s backup sets and other procedures to ensure that ICT BCP and Mission Disaster recovery plans are documented, tested and ready for implemented. 
  • Administrate and manage on premise and cloud servers/service and provide maintenance and support to all its end users.
  • Liaise with service providers for the provision of adequate ICT services and supplies.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation and reference materials for planned and delivered ICT Services, in IOM Jordan mission. 
  •  Ensure maintaining the unit’s documents available and update to date, like network diagrams, user manuals, SOPs, etc.
  • Implement IOM ICT Standards and IOM ICT Policies and Guidelines regarding networks, systems, telecoms, ICT services, equipment usage, procurement of ICT equipment and information security.
  • Develop and implement, when necessary, ICT training for ICT team and end users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems.
  • Undertake duty travel as required.
