Juba is classified in the \"E\" category and as a non-family duty station. The incumbent will report to the Senior Information Analyst /Chief JMAC. ResponsibilitiesWithin the delegated authority, the Information Analyst will be responsible for performing the following duties: • In consultation with the Chief JMAC, the Information Analyst will identify potential research and analysis topics. Collate, evaluate and analyse information related to developments/events relevant to the implementation of the Mission mandate, using a variety of sources, including UN Mission civilian/military/ police components, UN Country Team, national military/civilian authorities, international community, NGOs, media and other key stakeholders. • Develop effective working relationships with UN Mission components, the UNCT and relevant external actors and organizations. In consultation with the Chief JMAC and other relevant Mission components, ensures the development and application of JMAC tools, such as Information Requirements (IRs) and Collection Plans. • Produce accurate and timely integrated analysis, assessments, maps and other JMAC products which support decision-making, policy development and planning by Senior Mission Leadership. Assist the Chief JMAC in overseeing the timely production of quality JMAC products and in ensuring information security as well as proper dissemination. • Provide briefings to the Mission Leadership Team, senior UN staff and visiting delegations and represent the JMAC in meetings as required. Support the Chief JMAC in the supervision and management of a diverse, integrated JMAC team (recruitment, staff development, training, evaluation etc.). • Oversee a system for classifying and storing confidential information, in consultation with information management/technology expertise. • Support efforts to implement the 1 May 2019 DPO/Peacekeeping-Intelligence Coordination Team (PICT)- Policy on Peacekeeping-Intelligence, to include the establishment of a Joint Coordination Board within the Mission and strengthening of the Mission’s integrated mission peacekeeping-intelligence cycle: ensuring the effective and rational tasking, collection and analysis of information across different platforms, components and geographic areas; and ensuring that systems are integrated, accessible and friendly to users. • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and foster collaboration with Mission components, the UN Country Team (UNCT), UN Headquarters, as well as external actors and organizations in the country and the region. • Perform other duties as directed by the Chief JMAC. Experience working in the geographical region of operations is desirable. Experience working in an integrated civilian-military-police environment is desirable.
