Result of ServiceThis position’s purpose is to support the Department of Education to ensure the effective implementation, budget management for the Education in Emergencies (EiE) projects and other Agency-wide Education projects, within the Education Department at UNRWA Headquarters in Amman. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Education Projects and Planning Officer and will operate within the context of the Agency-wide Education Programme. Work LocationHQ Amman Expected duration3 Months Duties and ResponsibilitiesSpecific Outputs/Tasks include but not limited to: • Assist the education department in preparing monthly budget status and support monitor of financial expenditure for ED active projects. • Assist in preparing the budget breakdown, budget allocation and costing for Education Department (ED) projects. • Support the preparation of quarterly, annual interim, and financial and narrative progress and final reports for ED projects. • Support the submission of the quarterly and monthly reports to the Finance Department, Planning Department and Education Strategic Management Team on UNRWA electronic systems. • Update the archiving system for ED projects, which include project’s proposals, donor's agreements, project’s reports, and other related documents. • Support the enhancement of existing SLM to strengthen usability and effectiveness. • Taking minutes of key for internal and external ED project meetings. Deadlines and Fee Schedule : - Financial closing report for UK project and summary budget sheet preparation for ED projects. From: 30/04/2025 To 05/05/2025 the payment $ 1290.60 - Budget status report for the project implementation of EiE phase V, GIZ and DLP projects. From:31/05/2025 To : 05/06/2025 the payment $ 1290.60 - Budget status report for the project implementation of EiE phase VI and ECW projects. From:30/06/2025 To: 05/07/2025 the payment $ 1290.60 Qualifications/special skills• An advanced university degree (Master's) from a nationally or internationally accredited educational institution in education, humanitarian, social sciences, management, or related fields is required. • One year of relevant experience in education or humanitarian sector. • Experience in project budget management • UN sector or NGOs experience. • Very good computer skills in Microsoft office, especially MS Excel. LanguagesFluency in spoken and written English. Additional InformationThe consultancy does not include regular travel; however, travel may be required on an exceptional basis, subject to project needs and prior approval. The consultant will be required to work in line with UNRWA working hours and/or till complete the required deliverables on-site, providing expertise and support in the designated field and ensuring delivery of agreed-upon outcomes.
