The CrisisInSight Team
The CrisisInSight (CiS) Team leads on ACAPS’ global analysis, providing independent and multisectoral data and analysis in the form of the following:
Global analysis of crises’ severity, humanitarian access issues, risks and anticipation of impact of sudden onset crises. The CrisisInSight Team manages the INFORM Severity Index, a key index used by operational organisations and donors to inform humanitarian decision-making and prioritisation/resource allocation. Anticipatory analysis and scenario-building Country, regional and global level analysis on drivers of crises, humanitarian development, and humanitarian needs Dashboards and visualisations DatasetsThe team is an engine room for ACAPS, a key space where innovation is folded into existing global analysis to improve the quality, speed and depth of our coverage. The year ahead will see CrisisInSight continue to develop our flagship global products, while, together with ACAPS technical experts, exploring new approaches, including AI.
Purpose of the position
The Project Manager will support day-to-day functioning of ACAPS CrisisInSight Team from the operational perspective. Together with the CrisisInSight Manager and the Senior Analysts, the Project Manager will support the projects’ implementation, effective functioning of the team, and good team collaboration.
Role and responsibilities
Coordination
Create and implement the team’s operational processes Support the CrisisInSight (CiS) management team in the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring effective processes are in place (scheduling and provide administrative support for regular management meetings, lessons learning, etc) . Manage collaboration between the team and support services within ACAPS Support the grants’ management, including follow ups with donors, coordinating reporting, drafting donor reports, report on the progress of the project to ACAPS and donors, as required. Ensure that MEAL processes are either taking place or being set up and that changes are implemented based on findings Track budget spending and update the forecasts with the Finance Unit (within and outside Budget-versus-Actual meetings), support CiS Manager in estimates for fundraising purposesOperational processes
Ensure the effective and efficient running of operational processes for the CiS team Coordinate HR processes: performance and appraisal tracking; organigramme Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes with the line managers and CiS Manager. Capacity building: coordinating internal capacity building activities within CrisisInSight team. Any other tasks delegated by the CiS ManagerPartnerships and Network
Support the CiS Manager and analysis/data units leads in identifying partners for joint projects or information exchanges in alignment with the team strategy and capacities.Critical interfaces
The Project Manager will work closely with all members of the CrisisInSight team to ensure correct and smooth work processes and communication. The Project Manager will work closely with the CiS Manager and the Senior Analysts and further collaborate with: ACAPS HR, Grants and Finance, as relevant.
This is a new position in the ACAPS CrisisInSight team. The shape and scope of responsibilities might need to be adjusted following the review of the workload and responsibility distribution within the team. Any changes to this ToR will be agreed upon between the Project Manager and the CiS Manager.
Knowledge and Experience
This position seeks people with excellent planning and time management skills, able to work remotely with diverse team located across multiple locations. This person will have outstanding communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative manner as well as facilitate collaboration within the team.
Knowledge and experience
Master’s degree, preferably in humanitarian action, management, social sciences, international relations, research, or international development. Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years’ experience will be accepted instead. At least 5 years country/regional or headquarters experience in international organisations with at least 2 years of management experience. Experience in the humanitarian sector is essential. Demonstrated experience leading fast paced international projects and multi-disciplinary, multinational teams in complex environments. Knowledge of project management tools and approaches. Knowledge and experience in working with analytical projects will be a strong asset. Proven ability to deliver against targets and meet deadlines within a short timeframe. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office as well as different data processing and project management software (e.g. Airtable, Miro, etc)Language and communication
Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including active listening, respectful communication, and knowledge and adaptation to different communications styles and preferences within the team. Fluent written and spoken English required.Behavioural competencies

Many of us also work from home or other ‘out of the office’ locations, splitting our time between home office and ACAPS office.
