The incumbent will perform the following duties:
Assist logistical, administrative and financial aspects of IBG projects in coordination with other colleagues in the unit. Liaise with the government partners and local authorities, counterparts in carrying out community engagement and policing activities, capacity building trainings, project evaluations, and other events in the fields. Draft project-related correspondence, activity progress reports, and other relevant background documents Facilitate dialogues and discussions during community outreach, advocacy, and awareness related activities Maintain, update and compile project documentation, including payment requests, Purchase Requisition, and similar routine project documentation for the projects. Represent IOM at the meetings and conferences at county level. Organize conferences, meetings and trainings related to the projects. Undertake duty travels relating to the project activities, as required. Perform any other duties relevant as assigned.Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
Timely and accurate submission of assigned assignments Compliance with internal IOM/UN guidelines (Finance, Procurement, Travel etc) Effective communication with internal and external partners. Efficient project documentation.Education, Experience and/or skills required
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in political or social Science, International Relations, Law or field from an accredited academic institution with 2 years relevant working experience.Or
Completed High School diploma from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.Experience
Professional experience in project implementation in international donor funded projects. Experience in contributing to drafting project documents and reports. Familiarity with issues of migration, immigration and border management Understanding of security issues such as violent extremism and terrorism. Work experience in IOM, UN agency or non-governmental organization, or international organization is required. Extensive experience in liaison and cooperation with governmental authorities and UN partners is mandatory. Good level of computer literacy, including database applications. Previous work with migration issues and the ability to make adequate presentations. Experience working in hardship situations. Experience in Immigration and Border Governance projects would be an advantage. Experience in field level programme implementation and understanding Kenya borders would be an added advantage.Language
Fluency in English and Kiswahili.Travel required
