The IOM Constitution recognizes the link between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the right of freedom of movement.
UNICEF, the United Nations agency for children, works to protect the rights of every child, especially the most disadvantaged and those hardest to reach. UNICEF endeavors to help children survive, thrive and fulfil their potential through provision and advocacy for education, health and nutrition services. UNICEF also protects children from violence and abuse, works to bring clean water and sanitation to children in need.
WFP, the World Food Programme, is the world’s largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity, for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing: IOM,UNICEF and WFP are collaborate returns” through an EU-funded Joint UN Programme on “Access to Education ,Livelihoods and Peace” aimed to “strengthen sustainable reintegration, community cohesion, livelihoods, and access to education and critical services in areas affected by displacements and returns” through an integrated and interconnected approach linking together multiple interventions related to outcomes on education, livelihoods, and social cohesion. The 3-year Joint promotes synergies partners and harness competencies among the UN partner agencies in addressing inter-connected challenges in a holistic approach. The project is implemented in collaboration with and alignment to government and line ministries priorities both at national and local levels. The Joint UN Programme is implemented in a total of three (3) Counties - Wau in Western Bahr el Ghazal State and Twic and Gogrial West in Warrap State and targets a total of 120,697(60,082 Females and 60,615 Males) beneficiaries.
Under the overall supervision of IOM Transition and Recovery Coordinator, direct supervision of the UN Joint Programme Manager, and, under direct technical supervision of IOM Media and Communication Officer and working closely with guidance of Joint UN Programme Communication Team ( Communications Reference Group), the consultant will undertake production of a full length 10 minutes project documentary, three short advocacy videos and high-resolution photographs and for use in conferences, talk shows, festivals, internal and external educational purposes, and, for any audience and media where Joint UN Programme work will need visibility and awareness including social media, internet channels, news features for broadcasters and video messages. The final product will contribute to the visibility of the EU funded Joint UN Programme implemented by IOM, UNICEF and WFP on strengthening access to education, livelihoods and resilience, and peace and social cohesion in the target communities in Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal State, South Sudan.
The ‘multi-media producer’ will work with the Joint UN Programme Communication Team (Communication Reference Group) based in Juba, South Sudan. The video production and filming will take place primarily in projects locations of Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal, but limited interviews will also be conducted in Juba. The consultant will be engaged for production and editing of total of four (4) videos, 1 full length documentary, b-rolls, high resolution photographs (150) for up to 30 days within the period of the contract.
Developing a detailed concept and storyboard based on the project brief by Communication Reference Group.Ensuring highest quality of videography, film editing and photography this includes ensuring technical standards such as lighting, sound and framing and in some cases keeping the confidentiality of the subject where necessary.Ensuring that correct video formats are used as guided by Joint UN Programme Communication Reference Group Ensuring that video produced for use for different contexts and platforms follows the specifications required by Joint UN Programme Communication Reference GroupWork with the highest professional ethical standards and in keeping with the UN’s core messages. Ensuring availability of own high-quality audio-visual equipment for the assignment. The UN Joint Programme will not provide any equipment. DeliverablesThe consultant is expected to work on various aspects of video production for EU funded Joint UN Programme. The ‘multi-media producer’ will produce the following deliverables:
Film 1 Project Video (Long Version): Extended version of the Joint UN Programme highlighting project activities and testimonials (10 mins).
Film 2 Project Video (Short Version): A short version of the Joint UN Programme showcasing the impact of the project with IOM beneficiaries (2-3 min) Film 3 Project Video (Short Version): A short version of the Joint UN Programme showcasing the impact of the project with WFP beneficiaries (2-3 min)Film 4 Project Video (Short Version): A short version of the Joint UN Programme showcasing the impact of the project with UNICEF beneficiaries (2-3min)Photographs: High resolution good quality photographs of project implementation (150+) inclusive of all outputs of the project.Raw footage for all the videos and consent forms for all beneficiaries interviewed.All footage, images, and final videos produced during this assignment will be the exclusive property of the joint UN Programming Performance indicators for the evaluation of resultsThe consultant will report to the IOM Media and Communication Officer and work closely under technical guidance of Joint UN Programme Communication Team (Communications Reference Group) in all stages of the assignment workplan. The output will be reviewed by the IOM Media and Communication Officer and the UN Joint Programme Communication Reference, and any feedback will be provided to consultant.

Ability to film broadcast quality video and audio: HD 1920x1080 or better Have professional software editing skills (including Final Cut, Adobe CC etc.)Have knowledge of different video formats and video file conversions; and knowledge of converting of video files from multiple formats. Have online video publishing and file transfer skills; and working knowledge of publishing on social media sites Have strong storytelling skills and attention to detailLanguagesThorough knowledge of English, Arabic, and working knowledge of local languages essential.
Travel required
Travel will be required for content and footage collection in South Sudan. The consultant will undertake editing remotely.
