As a Treasury Analyst at CERN, you will play a crucial role in managing the organization's financial transactions, liquidity, and risk. Working within the Treasury and Payments department, you will contribute to the efficient management of CERN's cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities.
Functions
As a Treasury Analyst you will be responsible for:
Cash Management: Effectively manage and optimize CERN's daily cash position by monitoring cash flows, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations, and executing necessary cash transfers between accounts.Treasury Operations: Execute and control treasury operations including payments, bank account management, and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations, and risk management practices.Banking Relationships: Maintain and develop relationships with banking partners, negotiating terms, fees, and services. Stay updated on market trends, banking products, and services to ensure efficient operations and cost-effective solutions.Cash Forecasting and Analysis: Prepare and maintain accurate cash forecasts to support planning and decision-making processes. Analyze cash usage patterns, identify trends, and propose strategies for optimizing cash utilization.Risk Management: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating treasury-related risks, including interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, counterparty risk, and operational risk. Implement appropriate risk management tools and strategies.Investment Management: Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of CERN's investment portfolio. Analyze investment opportunities, perform risk assessments, and build investment models to maximize returns, considering CERN's risk tolerance and investment policies.Treasury Systems and Processes: Contribute to the continuous improvement of treasury systems, processes, and reporting tools. Participate in implementation projects, ensuring data integrity, and efficiency in treasury operations.Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements. Prepare accurate and timely treasury reports, including cash flow statements, cash positions, and investment performance.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of accounting or finance or a related field.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in treasury management, treasury operations, or a similar role.Strong experience of treasury management principles, cash management, banking products, and payment systems.Proficiency in relevant treasury systems and tools, (i.e. Kyriba).Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.If you do not have experience with all of the functions listed above, but are keen to learn, please still apply!
