This position is located in the Department of Safety and Security of Ukraine. This position is locally administered by UNDP and is financed by the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) from the LCSSB. The contract may be extended subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need for the post.
UNDSS Ukraine supports the UN country team with security assessments and advice, under the direction of the Chief Security Advisor (CSA).

Under the overall supervision UNDSS Field Security Coordination Officer (FSCO), the Transportation Clerk/Driver will be responsible for maintaining and driving office armoured/soft vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Driving and Transportation Responsibilities
Timely and safe driving of UNDSS soft skin and armored vehicles. Ensure that all instructions regulating safe driving behavior and Rules of the Road are in hand and strictly followed. Provision of reliable and secure driving services for the UN AFPs upon request. Driving office vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel within the city and to the regions with possible over-nights trips in the region. Meeting official personnel and visitors at the train station and ensuring the delivery of client services related to field travel.2.Vehicle Maintenance and Safety
Performing tasks related to the daily maintenance of the vehicle. Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is clean and roadworthy. Maintaining daily vehicle logs (mileage, fuel consumption, travel routes, signatures of passengers) and submitting logs to direct supervisor on a timely basis. Ensuring that repair and maintenance services are done on armoured/soft vehicle in a timely manner. Ensure that the vehicle has valid insurance and a first aid kit. Ensure that the vehicle has Personal Protection Equipment in a quantity sufficient for all the passengers and driver, trauma bag and satellite phone during the trips to the areas along the contract line and to the grey zone. Assist in vehicle history records preparation, collecting all vehicle-related documentation (scan copies of invoices, receipts, acts, insurance certificates, etc.).3.Provide Logistical and Field Support
Assist in the organization of logistical preparation of field trips, visiting missions, etc. Provision of a full range of logistical support, including all necessary provisions for large VIP missions. Assist in the preparation of Field Trip Reports to grant security clearance. Loading/unloading of light cargo delivered by vehicle.4.Provide Office and Administrative Support
Assist the ID Card Unit and act as a backup when necessary (processes issuance of UN ID and Access cards for UN AFPO in Ukraine, programs access privileges to UN ID and Access cards). Assist the UNDSS Training Unit during IFAK/SSAFE training by acting as a driver and role player. Assists in the preparation of IFAK/ETB/SSAFE training aids.The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
4. Institutional Arrangement
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager and direct supervision of the Local Coordinator Driver/ Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and driving office armoured/soft vehicles.

Skills and Experience Min. Education requirements
Secondary Education is required. Or University Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement. Valid Ukrainian driving license categories B and C/C1 (valid for driving both soft skin and armoured vehicles up to 5,500 kg) is required. Min. years of relevant work experience Minimum 4 years (with secondary education) or 1 year (with bachelor’s degree) of professional driving and supporting logistics and administrative work experience is required. Required skills Proven track record of sound knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair. Safe driving record. Desired skills in addition to the competencies covered in the Competencies section Knowledge of protocol and customs issues. Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required. Knowledge of Russian is desirable.
