Your responsibilities
The Medipix3 Collaboration is made up of 22 academic and research institutes whose aim is the development of new pixel detector readout ASICs for applications relating to particle imaging and detection.
The Collaboration has developed 2 world-leading pixel detector readout chips (ASICs), Medipix3 and Timepix3, which are now widely used. The Medipix team, which is hosted within the Microelectronics Section of the ESE group at CERN, leads the ASIC development and provides logistical and technical support to Collaboration members and our commercial licensees.
After a period of training you will be assigned to work in the technical support team for the Collaboration within the PH-ESE-ME section and will perform the following functions :
Technical and logistical support to collaboration partners across the world and at CERNOrganisation of the production and assembly of electronic test cards for ASICsProbing of ASIC wafers and selection of known good dieMaintenance of a database of componentsProcurement of electronics componentsPrinted circuit board designMore information here: https://medipix.web.cern.ch

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
Diversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization. Employing a diverse workforce is central to our success.
