UN-Habitat is the focal point for all urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN system. The position is located in the Data and Analytics Unit of the Knowledge & Innovation Branch of UN-Habitat in the External Relations, Strategy, Knowledge and Innovation Division of UN-Habitat (ERSKI), at the Nairobi duty station. ERSKI is responsible for strategic planning, programmatic direction and operationalization of UN-Habitat's focal point role for the New Urban Agenda in the UN system and for coordination of Emergency Programmes. UN-Habitat strives to establish and strengthen strategic relationships with a diverse range of partners at national, regional and international level, including political actors, civil society, professional organizations, and the private sector to work towards a better urban future for everyone. Having at its disposal a number of unique networks with access to governments, academia, the research community, cities, civil society, including grassroots organizations and being the recognized focal point for local governments in the UN system, UN-Habitat aims to ensure coherence of development efforts as well as innovative, multi-partner mechanisms at global, regional, and country levels. The Partnerships and Local Governments Unit (PLU) is a structure Unit of ERSKI Division that is responsible for corporate partnerships including management of engagement of partners in intergovernmental processes, and reporting on engagement in normative and operational activities. The PLU seeks to develop a digital Partnership Information Management System (PIMS) to enhance data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use at the corporate level. The PIMS will support UN-Habitat’s efforts in improving efficiency, transparency and accountability by providing real-time insights into partnerships and stakeholder engagements. This system will replace the current Excel-based partnership database and static web pages with a dynamic and integrated digital platform, enabling better coordination, reporting, and accessibility of information for internal and external stakeholders. Under the direct supervision of Associate Coordination Officer of the PLU, the consultants will be responsible for the following duties: 1. Manage the partnerships database in coordination with branch and regional focal points. -period May - November 2. Lead stakeholder mobilization for the resumed session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly. - May 3. Organize and report on the Global Stakeholders Forum. - May 4. Prepare background documents and guiding questions for WUF13 stakeholder consultations; mobilize participants, coordinate communications with partners, and draft reports and outcome documents of the consultations. Contribute to the development of a Global Action Plan on partnerships, coalitions, advocacy, and communication for the implementation of the 2026–2029 Strategic Plan. – June - July 6. Support the development of a Stakeholder Engagement Handbook for programmatic and intergovernmental processes at UN-Habitat. June - August 7. Assist in drafting the Partnership Strategy 2026–2029. – June - July 8. Support the mobilization of participants and organisation of the Parliamentarians and civil society roundtables for the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum. September – Novembe Qualifications/special skillsA first-level university degree in Information Technology, Business, Research, Statistics, or a related field is required. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable. A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required. Working experience in research, analysis and report writing is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
