Specialist, Compensation & Benefits - GL D - Defined Duration until December 2028

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation & Benefits, Recognition, Policies and Employee Relations, the Specialist, Compensation & Benefits will lead the execution of the organizational strategy, benchmarking, and improvement of Compensation and Benefits policies and programs at The Global Fund. The Specialist will design and implement competitive programs to attract, retain, and motivate staff. The Specialist will coordinate with the C&B team to keep policies and processes up to date and in line with best practices and accessible on relevant platforms. The Specialist will also monitor market trends and recommend changes and coordinate any communication campaigns to staff on any changes to compensation or benefits programs, policies, or procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage annual salary reviews, cost-of-living adjustments, and performance awards.
  • Approve salary proposals in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee tax equalization policies and benefits.
  • Conduct annual salary reviews and benchmarking and provide necessary reporting.
  • Prepare projections and cost models to oversee the calculation and tracking of compensation for staff including the rewards package and termination indemnities.
  • Provide mid-year and year-end calculations, memos and metrics to support finance, external actuaries and auditors in financial forecasts in C&B elements.
  • Coordinate job evaluations for staff and consultants in order to stay in line with workforce planning and organizational needs.
  • Manage all staff benefits for The Global Fund such as and not limited to the pension, health insurance, tax equalization, education grants, among others.
  • Ensure smooth operations, attend board meetings, manage rule amendments, coordinate with the Plan Administrator, and coordinate timely member communications on behalf of the Global Fund Provident Fund (GFPF).
  • Support staff life cycle events relating to health management, such as managing the occupational health vendors such as the duty travel clinic, the ergonomic specialist, the occupational health doctor or Medical Officer.
  • Oversee the sick leave process, communications, and case reviews; including the partnering with the C&B team in the reconciliation of health, accident, invalidity, death, and disability claims by liaising with insurers, absence management providers, payroll and treasury.
  • Provide census data to insurers and validate invoices and adjustments with the broker to ensure smooth process and staff experience.
  • Partner across C&B team to analyze sick leave data and patterns to make recommendations to management.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors (health insurance, broker, tax and compensation advisors, pension provider, life insurance providers etc.)
  • Management of RfP processes and vendor selection, including the negotiation and renewal of service agreements with external vendors along with SOPs and KPIs.
