Work LocationHeadquarters-based in Geneva Expected duration3 months from ASAP Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and World Trade Organization (WTO) based in Geneva. ITC's mission is to enable small business export success in developing and transition-economy countries, by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. In a joint effort, the ITC’s Institutions & Ecosystems section (I&E) and the Sector & Enterprise Competitiveness section (SEC) have, developed a MSME Diagnostic and Benchmarking Platform. This tool assists MSMEs, BSOs and project consultants in identifying the needs and challenges of MSMEs and presenting the results to those final users. The consolidated data helps BSOs and project consultants, structuring customised Aid for Trade programs. The tool is customizable for different sectors, countries, and projects according to their needs. The TRANSFORM project, implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC), supports high-potential enterprises in Guinea’s agricultural and fisheries processing sectors. By enhancing productivity, encouraging value addition, and expanding market access, the project strengthens the competitiveness of local businesses. Aligned with national development goals, TRANSFORM promotes sustainable practices, food security, and the economic empowerment of women, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient Agri-processing sector in Guinea. On the other hand, the Youth Startup Academy Colombia project, financed by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), aims to incubate 800 young entrepreneurs in vulnerable regions of Colombia and to support 100 high impact technology based startups in Bogota and Medellin by 2026. To fulfil this goal, the project will adapt and implement the Korean Youth Startup Academy programme, the most successful Korean startup incubation and acceleration programme. The project will partner with various local institutions, including iNNpulsa, the government agency mandated to coordinate all startup entrepreneurship activities in Colombia. Throughout the project term (March 2024~December 2026), the project will run 4 intakes of entrepreneurs, and will provide training, mentoring and consulting services. For the implementation, the project will partner with the Government of Colombia (i.e. Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Tourism), the Korean Government (Ministry of SME and Startups, KOSME) and various agents in the Korean and Colombian startup ecosystem. ITC is looking for an individual contractor to support the SEC section in implementing and delivering of activities below: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direct supervision of the ITC Adviser Sustainable and Inclusive Supply Chains, Sector Competitiveness Section (SEC), Division of Enterprise Competitiveness and Institutions (DECI), the responsibilities of the Individual Contractor will consist of the following. Under C247 Transform • Present the MSME Diagnostic and Benchmarking Platform to beneficiary SMEs of the Transform Programme, including an overview of objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes. • Prepare and deliver a two-day face-to-face training for beneficiary SMEs and or coordinators on business competitiveness encompassing the Strategic Competence, Marketing competence, Production competence and Resource management competence including guidance on how to conduct self-assessments using the MSME Diagnostic Tool. • Prepare, adapt, and translate training materials into French, including user guides and presentations, and develop PowerPoint decks with detailed speaking notes to support effective and consistent delivery. • Organise all logistical aspects of the face-to-face training, including preparation of the agenda, coordination of training dates and venue, travel requirements, and communication with beneficiaries. • Provide continuous technical and advisory support to beneficiary SMEs on the use of the diagnostic platform following the training. • Prepare a mission report including information regarding participants and results of the training event • Design and administer a post-training evaluation survey to assess training outcomes, participant satisfaction, and learning effectiveness. • Provide continuous support to the beneficiary SMEs in regard to the Diagnostic platform • Prepare PPTs in both English and French based on the contents of the existing Agribusiness Management training modules, to be used in future trainings in the project. • Prepare a final report with all activities and results. Under C216 YSA Colombia • Present the MSME Diagnostic and Benchmarking Platform to the members and staff of the YSA Colombia programme partnered Business Support Organization. • Draft and customise at least one general diagnostic and benchmarking model for tech-based companies in Colombia, and other two models on the Climate-bio and AI Tech base sectors, adapted to reflect the specific characteristics and needs of the sector. • Provide technical support for the delivery of capacity-building sessions for partner BSOs staff on how to navigate the Diagnostic and Benchmarking Platform and onboarding SMEs into their networks. • Support partner BSOs in the collaborative development and validation of a customized diagnostic questionnaire, ensuring consensus on structure, indicators, and relevance to the target SMEs • Support the validation, translation, and uploading of customized diagnostic questionnaire onto the MSME Diagnostic and Benchmarking Platform. • Provide support and ensure day-to-day communication and coordination between ITC and the partner BSO for the effective implementation of activities. • Monitor and report progress on the diagnostic implementation process to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
