Senior Reporting Assistant

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Senior Reporting Assistant will fulfil internal and external reporting requests. The incumbent is supervised by the Reporting Officer or another professional or more senior local staff depending on the staffing structure of the Office.

The Senior Reporting Assistant is expected to have contacts within the Organization and outside the duty station, as well as with partners and other stakeholders to collect information and monitor programme activities.

Duties
- Stay abreast of the operational developments and assist in the preparation of briefing notes and reports.
- Assist in consolidation of data and facilitate the preparation of periodic reports including Sitreps, Fact Sheets and other activity specific reports and in preparations of interviews to the local media and background briefings to the international media.
- Update regularly the relevant information tracking system(s), adhere to electronic filing requirements.
- Provide administrative support in routine services and activities within the Unit
- Accompany visits of foreign delegation and the media to refugee sites in the region, giving appropriate briefings, interpreting support and commentaries.
- Work closely with relevant colleagues to contribute to accurate and standard data presentation.
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes in a timely manner.
- Consolidate and provide inputs for donor reports.

- Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility. Ensure decision making in risk based in the functional area of work. Raise risks, issues and concerns to a supervisor or to relevant functional colleague(s).

- Perform other duties as required.

Desired Candidate ProfileUNHCR Moldova is looking for a Senior Reporting Assistant, G5 for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of further extension, subject to performance and availability of funds.

The selected person will be joining the External Relations Unit, responsible for reporting, resource mobilization, communication, and partnerships for advocacy purposes with the civil society, refugees, other UN agencies, government, and private sector. The person will work in close collaboration with the External Relations team under the supervision of the Associate Reporting Officer and primarily perform the functions as per the Job description.

The candidate must demonstrate excellent writing and analytical skills. To be able to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and orally is key, as the position involves development of reports and factsheets, proposals and appeals, and other communication products. In addition to liaise with internal and external partners to gather information.

We are looking for a dynamic individual, that stays abreast of the operational developments and the socio-economic and political context of the country, and the region. In addition, the candidate is expected to have proven interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills, as well as ability to work in rapidly changing environment.

Knowledge of the funding environment and experience in reporting for the social sector is an asset.

Working experience with UN/UNHCR or other international organizations, and/or previous experience on refugee or migrations issues is an added advantage.

Excellent knowledge of English and Romanian is required, as well as a working level of Russian.

Remuneration & Benefits:

A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered. The annual net salary is between MDL 324,405 and MDL 378,470 depending on relevant experience, excluding dependency allowances (if applicable), mandatory medical insurance and pension fund enrollment.
