We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Senior Finance Manager position.

The Senior Finance Manager will report to the Country Representative, and will be responsible for managing, preparing, administering and directing control of the project budget, reviewing and approving recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to the Country Representative, and assisting with development and management of internal financial audits.

The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Maintain the financial health of the organization

  • Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial reports regarding budgets and actual

  • Complete month-end/quarterly-end closing tasks and ensure accuracy and timely submission per month end’s schedule.

  • Assess monthly cash-flow needs for Country’s operations and communicate cash requests to APRO/HQ including engage with Euracific on cash request

  • Collaborate with APRO and Field Accounting in all matters related to country’s finance

  • In close collaboration with APRO and ensure completion of payment package for all payment requests submit via APRO or HQ

  • Ensure smoothly day to day financial correspondences.

  • Prepare a monthly payroll and monthly/yearly personal income tax

  • Maintain an organized and updated filing system for all country financial documents and records

  • Providing financial reporting for annual budget planning; including SMAC cost

  • Acting as Treasury role for Country Office.

  • Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, and financial statements

  • Ensuring adherence with FHI 360 and donor policies and procedures

  • Providing leadership and technical guidance for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).

    Minimum requirements for the position are:

    • A Bachelor's degree or its International equivalent in finance, business administration, accounting or a related field.

    • Partly completed or working towards to complete professional qualification (ACCA,CPA) preferred

    • At least five years’ relevant work experience, including three years in management and three years at the corporate or organization level;

    • Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures relating to accounting, financial controls and financial information systems;

    • A good knowledge of laws and regulations that have an impact on financial analysis and management controls;

    • Experience of working in a non-governmental organization (NGO) and an international organization;

    • Good organizational, supervisory, leadership and managerial skills;

    • The ability to influence, motivate, negotiate and work well with others;

    • The ability to provide strategic leadership and advice to the team, exchange information, and collaborate with colleagues and peers within and outside FHI 360;

    • Proficiency in English and Myanmar.

      Preference will be given to candidates who:

      • Proficient in one or more local languages;

      • Familiar with USAID rules, regulations and practices.

        • Handles routine financial matters for the project.

        • Has ability to recognize situations that deviate from accepted practice. Follows specific standards and procedures to resolve; variations must be approved by manager before taking action.

        • Errors may negatively impact office function and ability to meet deadlines

          SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED

          • Responsible for supervising junior finance staff.

          • Work is a combination of independent and supervised activities.

          • May offer ideas and suggestions for improving processes or efficiencies but does not change procedures without approval from HQ/APRO finance supervisor.

            TECHNOLOGY TO BE USED

            • Good proficiency in computer software applications in particular Microsoft Excel and World.

            • Email, telephone, printer, copier, cell phones and other devices.

            • Substantial experience using computerized administrative and HR information systems.

              TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

              Around 10% with the required ability to travel (domestically and internationally) as needed including weekends.
