Since 2000, WFP has relied on the SAP ERP platform to manage core functions—finance, logistics, budgeting, and HR—supporting staff globally from Country Offices to Headquarters in Rome. The ERP system ensures consistent functionality and efficiency.
The ERP Development Team within the Technology Division maintains and evolves WFP’s ERP solutions to meet changing business needs. As part of WFP’s IT Strategy and Digitalization Program, a major upgrade is underway to transition from SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 8 to SAP S/4HANA on RISE via a Brownfield approach, aiming for full deployment by summer 2026. This initiative will enhance process effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance.
Reporting to the Head of ERP Development, the SAP Supply Chain and Procurement Business Analyst will play a key role in shaping the platform’s evolution. Collaborating across departments, the analyst will deliver tailored ERP solutions, support the S/4HANA upgrade, and ensure alignment between technology and WFP’s mission and operational goals.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following specific tasks:
Business Analyst on SAP Upgrade to S/4HANA on RISE
Collaborate on the migration (brownfield approach) of the current WINGS platform from SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP S/4HANA for the Supply Chain area (SAP MM and SD modules), with relevance to the procurement business process, ensuring business continuity while optimizing existing processes for S/4HANA readiness. The analyst will Oversight activities executed by the WFP business partner, assess functional impacts, validate migrated configurations, and support remediation of any process or technical gaps post-conversion.
The Business Analyst will focus on ensuring a seamless transition of the Procurement and supply chain processes, including UNHRD, Fittest and insurance ones, and related financial and budgeting integrations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: University degree in business administration, information technology, or other related fields.
Experience: Minimum 5 years post graduate, progressively responsible professional experience as Business Analyst within an organization and proven record of accomplishment in development and implementation of IT applications.
Knowledge & Skills: Deep knowledge of SAP Supply Chain modules, specifically Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD), with a strong focus on the procurement module and its associated approval workflows. Good understanding of SAP Solution Manager and related Change Request Management (Charm) processes is desirable. Proven experience across the full IT solution lifecycle—requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation. Strong business analysis skills with a focus on clear, actionable requirements
Expertise in product and project management practices, including backlog management, strategic planning. Skilled in adapting and tailoring project methodologies to align with specific project requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to influence and collaborate across functional teams within matrixed environments. Experienced in coordinating and managing complex projects involving multiple vendors and delivery partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and successful outcomes.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable.
