Job Trainee, Global Treasury Unit

About the position
Based in Rome, and under the supervision of the Global Treasury Manager, the Job Trainee will provide support with the following tasks:
Responsibilities
- Assist with the review of payment requests for completeness & adherence to policy and follow up on non-compliance issues
Upon receipt of payable spreadsheets by Accounting Services, assist with the calculation of disbursement totals by currency for cash planning purposes
- Assist with recording payment related transactions in OCS
- Provide support to maintain and update spreadsheets of payment requests received by Accounting Services, including payment transaction references and any relevant comments/notes
- Assist with internal queries related to payments
- Download and save official receipts for the use of the Accounts Receivable team
- Assist with the recording of bank reconciliation items
- For LOA payments, save all receipts in the appropriate shared folder to which GMU has access
- Prepare and share with GMU weekly LOA payment report
- Assist with updating the Bank Certificates folder
- Provide support to maintain and update the Treasury team meeting notes spreadsheet
- Assist the Treasury Analysts as needed
- Assist with Audit requests
- Undertake other related duties as required
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Secondary school education
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite packages
- Working knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
- Good interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills, courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds
- Good skills in personal organization and priority setting
- Good client orientation and service approach
- Good time management skills and attention to details
Desirable Requirements
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Previous internships in relevant areas
- Work experience in an international environment

Terms of employment
This is a part-time (50%) job traineeship, and the monthly salary is Euro 608,50. The contract is initially for a period of six (6) months, but extendable and renewable upon review of performance and funds availability.
