Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Regional Cooperation Specialist is assigned to the Regional Cooperation and Integration (CWRC) within the Central and West Asia Department (CWRD). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines upon hiring but might be outposted to one of the ADB's Resident Missions based on the business need.
You will report to Regional Head, CWRC and work closely with Head of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Secretariat, and a team of CAREC consultants. The position may supervise junior team members.
Your Role
As a Regional Cooperation Specialist, you will contribute to the implementation of the CAREC Strategy 2030, including through support to the CAREC Secretariat, identification and implementation of ADB initiatives and technical assistances (TAs) for the CAREC Program; implementation of sector and thematic CAREC strategies; and policy support related to regional cooperation and integration (RCI) in CAREC countries. You will work closely with CAREC/CWRD developing member countries (DMCs), key development partners and other stakeholders, as well as with relevant sectors and thematic groups within ADB.

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Management, Public Policy, International Relations or other related fields, preferably at post graduate level or its equivalent. At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in regional cooperation and integration, preparation and implementation of strategies, climate change, economic corridors, and other relevant areas. International experience working in several countries, preferably with experience in CAREC countries. Excellent communication skills in English, analytical proficiency, and strong numerical skills is required. Ability to work in a diverse cultural context and work as a constructive team member.
