Context Under the overall supervision of National Officer/ Project Coordinator in Brasília, responding also to the Senior Project Assistant, the Project Assistant will support the activities at the regional level. The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following:
1. Support administrative tasks related to travel, contracts, purchases, payments, and also to others;
2. Provide administrative assistance to Socioeconomic Integration Unit´s Centro-Oeste Team (identify and track follow-up actions; administrative and procurement actions, as well as administrative support to meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences with governments, private sector, civil society and migrants;
3. Provide assistance and support to the coordination with civil society, government, private sector entities and academic institutions in order to facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of assigned programs/projects;
4. Provide support in outreach activities and in the development of partnerships with private sector partners in area of responsibility to enhance employment opportunities for migrants;
5. Assist the preparation of progress and other reports and ensure proper information exchange on all operational aspects of the project with the Project Coordinator;
6. Provide support for the implementation of capacity building activities for local stakeholders;
7. Support the implementation of projects aimed at Socioeconomic Integration in Centro-Oeste;
8. Assist in performing various assignments, in collaboration with national counterparts, by planning, organizing, managing logistics, and facilitating different events and activities in their administrative and organizational aspects with local governments, private sector, civil society and migrants;
9. Support the developing and dissemination of institutional and informational materials for refugees and migrants, including support with translation and revision of materials;
10. Perform other work-related duties, as required.
Education
• High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience;
• University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Economics, Law, Public Policy, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of two (2) years of experience;
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience
• Experience with social and economic integration projects in partnership with government, civil society, UN, or private sector actors;
• Experience in dialogues with the private sector, including partnerships and continuous contact.
• Experience implementing and monitoring social and economic integration projects in partnership with government, civil society, UN, or private sector actors;
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relations with relevant government counterparts, civil society, international organizations and private sector entities;
• Desirable field experience related to migration, refugee and statelessness population;
• Experience performing administrative tasks;
• Experience with project reporting.
• Previous work experience in United Nations and/or with migration issues will be considered an asset.
