Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission, and direct supervision of the Head, Migration Policy and Sustainable Development Unit the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the specified activities under Migration Policy and Sustainable Development Unit including the projects.

  1. Assist in implementation of programme and projects under the unit in close coordination with the supervisor and relevant partners, Government authorities and units at the Ministry and mission in Bangladesh;
  2. Provide support in the overall strengthening of knowledge and capacity of relevant Government and other stakeholders to implement migration policies and programs by facilitating planned activities under the project(s). 
  3. Communicate and coordinate with relevant units and staff (both within IOM and within relevant government Ministries) in the execution of project activities and ensure proper information channeling and exchange on project implementation.
  4. Organize meetings, workshops, events with the various stakeholders within the framework of the project
  5. Assist with the collection of migration data, information, materials, and knowledge products in order to promote information sharing, support evidence-based policies, and practices, and raise awareness in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  6. Assist in monitoring of the planned project activities, compiling and drafting reports for submission to the donor. 
  7. Conduct duty travel within the country to support project operations.
  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor and relevant colleagues Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Public Administration, Economics, International Relations, or a related field with relevant training and experience in project implementation. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.   Experience
      • At least 3 years of professional experience (or 5 years for candidates with school diploma) with a government, non-government, or international organization in the implementation and/or support of implementation of development projects. 
      • Prior working experience with UN agencies, INGOs, and NGOs is desired. Skills
