    ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT:

    This job is found in Country Offices (COs), the Job holder typically reports to a Nutrition Officer.

    At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach, and coordinate support staff.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities within the nutrition programme’s cash-based transfer interventions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

    Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Managing the cash-based transfers (both cash and voucher) operational aspects for the nutrition programme, including for both treatment and prevention interventions.
    • Facilitate regular price assessment to inform the setting of the value of the cash-based transfers.
    • Based on prevailing prices, revise ration plans with the programme team.
    • Track available budgets and jointly with programme team work on the targeting and planning for project implementation.
    • Track available budget and ensure funds availability and facilitate the processing of the transfers
    • Organise and facilitate retailer assessments, onboarding, and capacity building of retailers with ongoing monitoring and support.
    • Contribute to the processes in the engaging of the financial service providers to support the cash-based transfers.
    • Prepare contingency plans for paper voucher utilisation and manual verification and financial statement preparation in cases of system failure.
    • Support with any troubleshooting
    • Monthly reconciliation of beneficiary numbers, cash/vouchers provided and incurred costs.
    • Provide regular trainings to partners and relevant staff at both SO and CO.
    • Perform other duties as required.

      QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

      Education: Completion of secondary school education, a BA degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or a related field is an added advantage.

      Experience: At least 6 years of professional work experience in a humanitarian organization, with expertise in market assessments, cash-based transfer programming, information technology, or M&E.
