Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Assistant
Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and other persons of concern (POC).
Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR's Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector for refugees. UNHCR has developed a Private Sector Fundraising Strategy focusing on both Individual Giving and Private Sector Partnerships, identifying priority fundraising markets and regions.
Individual Giving (IG) is targeted at the general public to secure the support of individuals through regular, unrestricted donations, cash appeals and legacies. The aim is to generate both monthly and one-time donations from individuals using various channels and methods including direct mail, face-to-face fundraising, telemarketing, digital fundraising, DRTV and emergency fundraising, with focus on strong donor loyalty and lifetime value.
The purpose is to maximize the donor base from the individual giving (IG) for UNHCR, those with the ability to provide donations of between $1 to $10.000 (depending on local market conditions, as well as scope of responsibility) per year to UNHCR.
The PSP Individual Giving Assistant contributes to the IG team development, providing technical expertise and operationality to enable the team to operate to their full potential.

Duties
General
Donor Acquisition
Work to develop cross channel fundraising campaigns such as F2F, Digital, DRTV, Multichannel, Direct mailing, etc. and in particular for:
a) Face to Face
per location etc… in order to make the programme data driven.
b) Digital, DRTV and Multichannel
c) Cold Mailing
Donor Retention and Development
Work to develop cross channel donor cultivation activities to maximise acquisition investment and improve donor Life Time Value (LTV), such as:
Minimum Qualifications
Years of Experience / Degree Level
For G4 - 1 year relevant experience with High School Diploma; or Bachelor or equivalent or higher

Relevant Job Experience
Essential
Knowledge or experience in private sector fundraising, sales, client/donor communication, marketing, or journalism. Participation in fundraising campaigns in profit or non-profit industry. Ability to maintain databases and software in fundraising.
Desirable
Understanding of the non-profit sector. Knowledge of database migration and setting up a Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system. Project management experience. Vendor management experince.
Experience in data analysis and segmentation.

Within the PSP Italy Individual Giving team, Telemarketing activities have a strategic importance in contributing to a positive donor experience with the aim of limiting attrition rates and increasing donor loyalty and value.
The role of the PSP Individual Giving Assistant is to support the supervisor in the implementation of TMK programme enhancements to maximize performance for income generating campaigns and to improve donor retention, to set strategic objectives for the programme by defining Telemarketing annual plan ensuring growth for income generating campaigns and supporting donor development activities to improve donor retention. In addition, he/she will manage and daily monitor all TMK activities across all vendors in order to meet set KPIs, will deliver regular (weekly, monthly and quarterly) reports, insights and advice on telemarketing campaigns trends and improvements to be implemented and will plan and manage the following telemarketing campaigns: Upgrade, Conversion, Welcome, Recapturing, Loyalty, Thank you, One-off calls, SMS appeals. More in details he/she will draft scripts for all telemarketing and SMS campaigns, develop training materials and deliver initial, ongoing and on-the-job training sessions to call centre’s staff, extract donors’ data from the database in order to define contact lists and refresh criteria and procedures on a regular basis in order to ensure consistency across communication journeys, monitor quality of data imported into database and liaise with vendors and internal Database & Analysis Team, monitor all invoicing across all vendors and if and when necessary regular reforecast of expense based on vendors/volumes, implement Emergency plans for telemarketing activities, liaise with telemarketing suppliers and test new suppliers if required, implement new telemarketing systems and procedures and support other PSP activities if requested.
The supervisor will define specific work objectives and will provide regular advice and guidance. The incumbent’s workload and the assignments will remain under constant scrutiny and direction of the PSP Individual Giving Associate.
Italian mother tongue would be an asset.
