Purpose of Job

The Principal, Supply Chain/Trade Advisory Specialist is responsible to support SME F&D Group’s business delivery under EBRD’s Supply Chain Solutions Framework. The Prinicipal will support the teams design and implement Supply Chain and Trade advisory programmes/solutions that offer bespoke business and sustainability advisory services as a part of EBRD’s Supply Chain Solutions Framework.

The Principal interacts with relevant teams within SME F&D, as well as other teams across the EBRD, particularly with Corporate Sector and Financial Institutions teams.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the SME F&D Group’s delivery of Supply Chain and Trade advisory projects that offer bespoke business and sustainability advisory services to suppliers and buyers operating across the EBRD’s countries of operation (“COOs”) under EBRD Supply Chain Solutions Framework (“SCSF”).
  • Drive business development and client engagement including identifying new opportunities for SCSF, preparing impactful pitches to prospective SCSF clients and drafting tailored solutions,
  • Leverage on the EBRD network of partnerships with stakeholders, including buyers, financial institutions, government agencies, business networks, to advance scalable Supply Chain and Trade Advisory solutions that enhance SME access to finance and build skills and capacity.
  • Where relevant, provide technical guidance and training to Buyers on best practices for supply chain and trade advisory, improving internal capacity at the Buyer-level to deliver high-quality advisory solutions to SMEs that are aligned with their overall commercial strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver assessments and/or impact reports on the outcomes of advisory interventions to internal and external stakeholders (including donors), highlighting successes and lessons learned to guide decision-making.
  • Participate as a team member of banking projects to drive impactful outcomes for the clients.
  • Develop knowledge-sharing resources and products to disseminate both internally and externally best practices on NFS.
  • Track key performance indicators for programmes, frameworks, and transactions involving SCS solutions, ensuring implementation teams meet targets and providing support to address any obstacles.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams within EBRD to leverage resources and expertise creating cross-department partnerships that enhance outreach and effectiveness.
  • Engage with the SCSF clients to identify their and suppliers’ needs and priorities, and tailor made advisory solutions. Develop strong relationships with potential clients, by effectively communicating value proposition and aligning solutions with client needs.
  • Design SME trade development programmes to enhance trade opportunities for SMEs by improving market access and competitiveness addressing key SME challenges.

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

    Academic/Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience in the areas of expertise is preferred.

      Experience

      • Relevant experience and an extensive, tangible track record in developing and implementing Supply Chain and Trade advisory projects, action plans, and programmes for buyers and uppliers (in emerging and/or developed markets), with a focus on SMEs.
      • Proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders, particularly buyers to advance scalable supply chain advisory initiatives.
      • Experience in providing technical guidance and training to suppliers on the implementation of advisory solutions and strategies that strengthen supply hains for buyers.

        Knowledge& skills

        • Deep knowledge of corporate and SME sector, with a demonstrable track record of implementing supply chain solutions and their impact in the field.
          • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to oversee the design and programmatic delivery of impactful supply chain advisory solutions.
          • Strong problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
          • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, including financial institutions, government agencies, and private sector players.
          • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare and deliver assessments, proposals, and impact reports, among others, to internal and external stakeholders.
          • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in other languages of countries of operations would be an advantage.

            • Ability to work in teams, cross-departmental and multi-cultural environment.Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationship and to coordinate closely with relevant teams across the bank to ensure full alignment and coordination of joint initiatives or products.
