This role requires a diverse set of skills including information gathering, an understanding of NRC’s current programming activities, experience in working with local partners, an ability to understand the developing context in Sudan and the ability to share knowledge and identify innovative ways of working. Roles and Responsibilities
The Partnership Officer’s at an area office core role is to support the implementation of the project led by the local partner to enable them to more effectively respond to the needs of displaced and vulnerable communities. The Partnership Officer’s role will be to work with partners and the Area program team on the ground.
Generic responsibilities
Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements. Provide support to project staff and implementing partners involved in NRC activities; Liaise with peer organisations and staff in partner agencies to facilitate information sharing and coordination Prepare and files accurate records of activities and ensures all information is accurate and available in time. Work with the programme team to support mainstreaming safe and inclusive programming (SIP) and do-no-harm into partners projects and activities at an area level. Increase awareness of partners’ potential and needs among NRC staff in Sudan at area office by updating the profile of the programme by reflecting success stories and project achievements by partners.
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide on-the-ground coaching, training, and support to partner staff. Maintain tracking of active and closed partner projects in electronic and hard copy, ensuring all documentation in place at AO level. Support and Contribute to the exercise of mapping of local potential partners and maintaining relations with existing partners at the area office level. Facilitate effective communication with partners during project implementation, serving as a liaison to ensure smooth collaboration and coordination. Conduct regular visits to project sites, offering hands-on support and troubleshooting. Coordinate with Core Competency (CC) teams to ensure alignment between NRC’s Area Office (AO) strategy and partner activities. Track progress on partnership activities, ensuring targets and timelines are met as per the Project Implementation Agreement (PIA) through partners' weekly and monthly reporting. Collect and analyze data from the field to assess the effectiveness of partner interventions. Lead project meetings at the AO level with CC teams, support staff, and partners for project opening, review, and closure. Assist with field-level coordination of logistical arrangements for training, workshops, and partner meetings. Ensure accurate documentation of all partner interactions and implementation activities. Provide the Area Program Manager with an overview of AO partners and their implementation progress. Support the Country Office (CO) partnership team with the identification of new partners in the AO. Support the creation of VPCL and follow up on signing by the budget holder. Track payment progress with the AO finance team to ensure timely disbursements.

Minimum 3 years of experience of relevant experience in a related field, including in partnerships and civil society strengthening. Above average computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Windows Word and Excel. Proven ability to work effectively with national and local civil society organizations required. Good understanding of donor regulations and grants management (e.g. with institutional humanitarian and development donors); Strong personal organisational skills, analytical thinking for strategy development. Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements.Context related skills, knowledge, and experience:
