The United Nations University (UNU) is an international community of scholars engaged in policy-oriented research, capacity development and dissemination of knowledge, furthering the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. The UNU Human Resources Office (HR-KL), as part of UNU Centre Administration, serves UNU’s Institutes and Offices in 16 locations around the world in the provision of human resources services. This includes HR policy and strategy, as well as business processes and systems and a core set of transactions in HR, including contract administration and global payroll. HR-KL is led by the Chief of Human Resources, who reports to the Director of Administration in Tokyo.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required. Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.The duration of the online internship is 3 months.
Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UNU to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
The monthly amount of the stipend will be determined for each duty station based on the stipend rates in effect. The stipend will be paid on a monthly basis including online internship and part-time internship arrangements are prorated accordingly.
