The Position:

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services for UNFPA officials, staff and visitors, within the duty station and to field locations. You will also provide clerical support for delivery and collection of documentation,  visitors reception at the airport including managing visa and customs formalities when required.  

You will report directly to the Logistics Assistant.

Job Purpose:

Providing reliable, safe driving and clerical support , you will uphold the highest standards of discretion and integrity; have a deep sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. You will demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

You would be responsible for:

      ●    Provide safe, timely and reliable transport service to UNFPA/UN officials, staff, guest, staff, stakeholders and visitors.
      ●    Provide reliable and safe driving services by; driving office vehicles for the transport of UNFPA staff, officials and visitors; delivery and collection of mail and documentation; 
      ●    Meet and receive official personnel and visitors at the airport, including managing visa and customs formalities when required;
      ●    Keeping abreast of traffic and road and security and safety awareness to enable safe and on time arrival for meetings, updating supervisors on traffic law changes; follow accident procedures.
      ●    Managing all aspects of vehicle upkeep and maintenance; equipping vehicles with safety kits, conducting minor repairs and cleaning; arranging for major repairs and service to ensure vehicle kept clean, in good running condition; keeping daily vehicle logs; and assisting in the preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and history reports;
     ●    Keeping track of insurance and tax formalities including managing vehicle documentation (insurance, registration, tax, logbooks, emergency contacts).
     ●    Acting as a translator in local language for official passengers, where necessary;
     ●    Assisting the CO staff with general administrative errands, as required, such as  preparing administrative forms and, support on payment of office utilities (electricity, water, internet, telephone); 
     ●    Collect, receive, deliver, log and file official documents, mail, parcels, packages, courier promptly and accurately and update records.
     ●    Uphold high standards of confidentiality while handling important information/matters
     ●    Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor  
 

Qualifications and Experience: 

Education:  

Completed Secondary Level education.

Knowledge and Experience: 

  Valid driver’s license.   Two years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe  driving record.   Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions, and defensive driving skills  Skill in minor vehicle repairs
 

Languages: 

 Fluency in Myanmar; working knowledge of English Language.
