Job Purpose:
The humanitarian situation in South Sudan has deteriorated to crisis levels. A confluence of climatic shocks, economic collapse, and prolonged conflict has created a near-irreversible decline in public service delivery. Of the 9.4 million people currently in need of humanitarian assistance, 7.7 million, primarily women and children, are facing acute food insecurity. The April–July lean season, now well underway, is expected to bring even more severe hunger conditions across many parts of the country. The Purpose of this role is to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of SRH Programming in Emergency setting, Strengthen field coordination mechanisms, including sub-national RH working groups and GBV sub-clusters. Facilitate capacity-building for implementing partners and local health actors on Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP), GBV risk mitigation, and accountability to the affected populations (AAP).
You would be responsible for:
Support coordination and co-leadership of the sub-national RH technical working group in Malakal. Manage the distribution and utilisation tracking of RH kits, dignity kits, and emergency supplies in assigned project locations, supported by CERF, in coordination with the Logistics and Procurement teams. Facilitate and document capacity-building workshops for partners on SRH in emergencies, GBV prevention, and accountability. Lead or participate in rapid assessments of SRH needs in displacement-affected populations. Monitor IP performance through remote and in-person field monitoring and submit monthly progress updates using a field monitoring template. Promote access to psychosocial support services, especially for GBV and SEA survivors, in line with AAP principles. Identify emerging humanitarian gaps and propose adaptive interventions for vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, adolescents, and uniformed personnel. Input into donor proposals and strategic documents related to humanitarian operations in Upper Nile. Support data collection, analysis, and reporting on SRH/GBV indicators, disaggregated by age, sex, and location. Maintain regular communication with health facilities and implementing partners to ensure service quality and policy compliance. Prepare transition and exit plans to move toward sustainable, evidence-based SRH programmingQualifications and Experience:
Education:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, sociology, demography, Gender, International Relations, international development, Economics, Public Administration, Management, or other related fields.
