Work LocationHome-based in Tajikistan Expected duration20 February to 20 December 2025 (30 days’ work) Duties and ResponsibilitiesBACKGROUND: The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint development agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, which enables small businesses to improve exports in developing and transition countries by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive trade development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. The Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (OEECA) is responsible for developing, monitoring, coordinating and implementing ITC’s activities and projects in Eastern Europe and Central Asia In Tajikistan, ITC currently implements the Trade Promotion East (TPE): Balkan States and Central Asia, funded by SECO. To ensure effective and coherent communication and visibility of the project activities in Tajikistan, ITC/OEECA is seeking the services of a national consultant (NC) on communication and public relations. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The National Consultant will work under the overall guidance of the Project Officers of the respective projects (OEECA), under the direct supervision of the National Project Manager in Tajikistan, as well as in close collaboration and coordination with the Communication Consultant at ITC HQ. The National Consultant on Communication and PR will be responsible for performing the following duties: • Prepare project press releases, and success stories. • Update ITC Tajikistan’s page on social media (Facebook and YouTube) ensuring regular activity and visibility. • Prepare media reports on project-related PR activities. • Develop and publish a series of promotional articles and stories about ITC project activities in Tajikistan. Copyright The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. The consultant must be a citizen of Tajikistan. • At least 7 years’ experience in public relations, preferably for an international company or technical assistance organization. • Solid work experience in a similar role in an international trade organization. • Well-developed contacts in the Tajikistan mass media. • Knowledge of trends and techniques in the communication sector. • Knowledge of trade related issues. • Excellent communication, strategic and creative writing skills. • Ability to develop and conduct trainings. • Working with minimum supervision. • Excellent computer skills. • Ability to work in a flexible and rapid manner.
