Desired start date: 15/02/2026
Duration of the mission: 10 months
Location: Yangon
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
Myanmar, all projects (funding from ECHO, UNOPS, UNICEF, MHF, FCDO, CDCS, CIAA-AAP, French Agence de l'Eau). Large volume of grants (9, regular ones) and impacts of fundraising dedicated to the Earthquake response (top-ups or 4 new grants), covering Rakhine, Kachin and the central part of the country. Participation to number of consortia of various international and national NGOs across bases.
In coordination, 30 positions, including 3 in the Grants department (2 under your direct management)
At mission level, 195 positions (with possibly 2 under your functional management)
General objective:
The Grants & Partnerships Coordinator plays a key role in developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. He or she guarantees a high level of interdepartmental coordination in the management of grants and provides strategic support to the country office on issues of donor relations, external representation, implementing partners management, external compliance, and donor accountability.
The main challenges:
- Entry in the country is progressively re-established for expatriates, the position currently held from Bangkok will transition to Yangon in February-March 2026
- Access: Travel Authorization (TA) is needed every month in order to acces the camps, expatriate cannot apply for TA since august 2023. Access to intervention sites remains highly constrained as of late 2025.
- Significant restructuring ongoing at mission level: while the MYA annual programming is stabilizing between 10.5 and 12 MEUR, the number of Grants and active Partnerships remains important and requires a strong monitoring while the operational model of SI in Myanmar is transforming. Meanwhile, the balance of programming across bases is also evolving with historic bases being progressively reorganized to match new funding and programming realities.
- Grants department is being consolidated in Yangon. A transition has been initiated towards a national reporting manager function. In the stabilization phase, it's expected that the Coordinator will keep structuring the department and push towards the training and autonomization of teams, as well as accomodate the growing partnerships portfolio.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
. Clear the closing of all grants related to Eathquake response
. Finalize the restructuring of the Grants and Partnerships Department, including the onboarding of a national Reporting Manager function
. Monitor and support the roll-out of the Localization Framework of the mission
. Harmonize ways of working with the Programs (with DCD-Programs) and Ethics & Compliance (with E&C Coordinator) departments.
. Revise the mission funding strategy and priorities in the donors' engagement action plan.
Responsibilities and main activities:
No major security concerns in SI offices locations, both Rakhine and Kachin are in Security level 3, but remain largely inaccessible for expatriate given the visa situation. The position will be based in Yangon with punctual movements to SI operational bases in country.
Remote management and adapted modalities require a strong application of digital/online security framework.
