In close collaboration with national authorities through the project “Promotion of the integration of the refugee population into the labour market” IOM aims at promoting the integration of the refugee population into the labour market, through:
a) the further development and maintenance of a stable, effective, flexible and adapted to the needs of beneficiaries and companies labour integration mechanism, and
b) the implementation of complementary and interconnected activities regarding the proper preparation of refugees and the organized cooperation with businesses and other stakeholders.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the National Project Coordinator, in close coordination with the IOM Greece Media Department and MoMA Media Focal Points, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the media related promotions of the project activities, social networks, production of visibility materials, organization of visibility events etc.
- Support the development and distribution of project-related publications, reports, and materials in media and social media.
- In close coordination with MoMA and National Media and Communications Officer, draft press releases, produce media briefs and newsletters, conduct interviews with the beneficiaries in line with the relevant guidelines, prepare presentations of the success stories etc.
- Support in the development and production of information sheets, newsletters and presentations; draft internal and external information and communication materials and reports.
- In close coordination with MoMA and the IOM Media department, prepare various communications materials (e.g., photography, videography, posters etc).
- Support project team ensuring consistent visibility of project activities. .
- Monitor local and international media as well as social media for mentions of IOM RRF project and content relevant to the project delivery.
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned. Education
- University degree in Journalism, Media, Communications Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
- High school degree/certificate with four years of relevant professional experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Experience
- Experience in communications and/ or working with the media;
- Experience in working in a migration/refugee setting would be considered as an advantage;
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems. Skills
- Knowledge of Meta Business Suite, web, social media, an advantage;
- Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles. Languages
- Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral) is required. IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
