Job Description

In this position, you will maintain the ISOLDE facility beam instrumentation, assemble new spare instruments, manage the spare parts stock, procure spare part components, and manage the manufacturing drawings and 3D model database.

Your responsibilities:

Perform assembly work with high attention to the quality of the product.Able to operate conventional machine tools.Document of all steps of the production.

Your profile:

Up to 2 years experience in performing mechanical assembly and machining (conventional or CNC).Experience with producing and reading mechanical drawings and understanding mechanical drawings for assembly.Experience with product life cycles, quality management and production follow-up.

Skills:

Knowledge of 2D drawings relevant standards for dimensioning and tolerances, e.g. ISO Geometrical Product Specifications, GPS.Experience with Catia V5 preferable and PLM; any other CAD software could also be valid.Working in teams: effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Hybrid

This position involves:

Work in Radiation Areas.Interventions in underground installations.A valid driving licence.Exposure to ionizing radiation and classified as category A.

Given the occupational health risks associated with this position, the selected candidate must obtain medical clearance before a contract offer is confirmed.
