At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
Introduction
Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician with a passion for cutting-edge technology, precision assemblies and eager to contribute to scientific breakthroughs? Join the ATLAS Detector Operation Group at CERN and be part of the team who is operating and upgrading ATLAS to unlock new frontiers in particle physics.
As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in the ATLAS upgrade project. In the first stage, you will contribute to the design, prototyping, assembly, and testing of support structures for the next-generation silicon ATLAS tracker. In the second stage, you will take part in the installation of advanced detector systems in the complex underground experimental cavern. This dual role offers a unique opportunity to develop a broad spectrum of professional skills while addressing exciting technical challenges. Success in this role will rely on your strong team spirit and ability to collaborate effectively.
