The individual will play a critical role in supporting the SRHR teams\u2019 ambitious mission to Break the Cycle of HIV Transmission which has a core focus on closing the testing gap, accelerating the introduction and scale up of game changing diagnostic and biomedical prevention products and expanding access to services by leveraging integrated pathways such as primary health care, tuberculosis and nutrition to maximize impact.    

Main purpose of the role is:  

Lead strategy to prepare the market for introduction of innovative products through a combination of market shaping interventions, implementation planning and stakeholder coordination. Oversee programs that will accelerate the market entry of an exciting pipeline of diagnostic and biomedical prevention tools. Design and manage a portfolio of investments aimed at supporting strategic scaling of integrated HIV delivery interventions and directly support country level decision making.   Stand in for CIFF ED, Director(s) where necessary on key commercial negotiations and high-level meetings.  

This role will complement and work closely with the Manager, HIV and Demand Generation who oversees a portfolio covering Global Fund investment performance, demand generation activities as well as global partnership coordination and fundraising. Lead portfolio performance and growth by ensuring CIFF vision and objectives are met in multi-partner, integrated HIV access coalitions and by strengthening strategic alignment with CIFF\u2019s supply chain, financing, and demand-side work.

Requirements

Strategy and planning

 Lead development of product introduction and service delivery strategies by working closely with partners to directly support governments on product adoption and decision making, channel implementation strategy and uptake monitoring.   Design and lead execution of the teams\u2019 related market shaping interventions, including high impact and innovative financing opportunities for long-acting HIV prevention, multiplex diagnostic technologies and high potential opportunities for integration.   Lead the preparation and presentation of high-quality analysis supporting new investment proposals to the Board / Investment Committee, encompassing end to end analysis and investment thesis. Coordinate financial sensitivity and risk analyses, and coordinate with legal, finance, and programme teams to manage due diligence and contracting for new investments. 

Programme development, delivery & performance

Manage a $50 - $100M portfolio of programs supporting new product development, market shaping and access, ensuring alignment with sector plans and priorities. Lead on CIFF\u2019s approach to SRH / HIV market dynamics and assess financial instruments for suitability to address access barriers and ensure market sustainability. Act as data steward within the team and take ownership of MEL strategy to ensure effective monitoring of program performance against key indicators and targets, report internally and initiate course corrective action where investments are not delivering as expected. Conduct structured feasibility analysis on investment proposals, using appropriate methodologies to ensure they are based on logical and robust assumptions, which can withstand scrutiny from the Executive Team (ET) and CIFF Board. Lead work either with sector colleagues or independently, to prepare summary reports, board reports and portfolio investment reports, ensuring these are produced to a high-standard and in a timely fashion, often within tight timeframes. 

Sector knowledge, partner management, and profile-building

Develop, maintain, and operationalize partnerships and partner cooperation agreements to realize CIFF priorities related to co-funding, coordination of key market interventions and implementation support grants. Foster peer-level relationships with key decision makers within governments, manufacturers, social enterprises, NGOs, and other foundations. Represent CIFF at commercial negotiations, technical working groups, high level meetings and on panels or at conferences as required. Undertake other specific research projects required, as directed by members of the team.

Membership of the team

This role does not hold line management responsibility, but we expect all employees to demonstrate good leadership behaviours; this includes adopting a coaching approach with colleagues to help build skills, confidence and capability in particular areas, processes or procedures. As required, support on the planning and coordination of inductions for new joiners to the team. We operate a matrix structure so reporting lines can vary between specific aspects of the role.

Skills & Experience

Expert knowledge in both demand and supply sides of HIV market, including a broad understanding of latest epidemiological trends, product pipeline and related implementation science 5+ years of experience in providing technical assistance and implementation support to local affiliates, partner governments and Ministries of Health Prior experience in management consulting on healthcare / life science sector is advantageous. Benefits

The starting salary for this role is GBP 82,000.
