Job Overview:
The Logistics Officer under supervision of the Logistics Coordinator – North in general will be responsible for NRC Kunduz Office on time procurements, asset management, provision of transportation for incoming or outgoing Travel Authorization Request “TAR” and stocking assets and inventories in the warehouse.
The position holder will have frequent travel to Northern provinces for provision of support at times of large procurements and when required. The Logistics Officer will maintain and update market price fluctuation, supplier list, stock balance and will report upon request.

The following are brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with NRC policies, manuals, guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOP) and donor requirements. Performs delegated logistics functions in accordance with the action plan. Conducts daily operational logistics activities and ensures follow-up. Assists in the administration of resources to ensure deliverables are completed within budget, on time and to standard. Prepares and develops logistics reports as requested by the country/area office. Contributes to the development of SOPs as needed. Ensures proper filing of all supporting documents. Promotes and shares ideas to improve the logistics function. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Specific responsibilities:
Ensure assets register are filled and records are up to date. Ensure warehouse/store is well arranged and reconciliation is in place. Maintain good use of office generator and ensure its operations as per the schedule Control and manage efficient use of generator and vehicles fuels. Ensure vehicles and generators are in good working conditions. Plan the road mission of national and international staff as per security measurements. Draft request for quotations to suppliers for tendering purpose. Preparation of procurement memos and contracts for local procurements. Processing of procurement orders (POs) for local procurement. Preparation of suppliers payments and submit to finance to process payments. Follow up the deliveries of items from the local suppliers, country office and field offices. Filing procurement and contracting supporting documents. Inform the procurement requester prior to reception of any materials from suppliers. Ensure suppliers are treated equally, no conflict of interest in collection of quotes. Provide regular and weekly procurement updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and other team members. Manage the working roster of official and contractual drivers. Any other task related assigned by Logistics Coordinator.Generic professional competencies:
Experience working as a Logistics and Procurement in a humanitarian or recovery context. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Experience in web-based financial software. Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programs.Context/Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration and or Supply Chain Management. Minimum 3 years of logistic and procurement experience in similar role with preferably with international NGOs and UN agencies. Knowledge of local market situation in northern region. Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel is mandatory) Creativity, curiosity and willingness to try new things and to challenge the status quo.Behavioral competencies:
