Org. Setting and ReportingThis position is located in the Supply Chain Performance Management Section of the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), duty station Nairobi. The incumbent efficiently and effectively manages various logistics support and data management operations. The incumbent reports to the Chief, Performance Section or the Designate. ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision of Chief Performance Section, the incumbent is responsible for organizing and executing logistics support and data management related functions within his/her unit. The incumbent at this level typically: • Identifies and mobilizes resources to support supply chain and mission operations. Coordinates performance management activities by leveraging business intelligence and data analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. • Provides and coordinates logistics, supply chain, property management, business intelligence and data analytics support to supply chain, stakeholders and substantive components of the mission. • Drafts and coordinates implementation plans and other documents supporting the implementation of Projects, BI dashboards, and section operations, as directed by Head of Unit or Section Chief. • Drafts and coordinates inputs to BI dashboards, reports, presentations, briefing notes, and other information documents required by the management, including inputs required by UNHQ. • Liaises and coordinates supply chain, property management, business intelligence and data analytics support with other units within the Mission Support Division, such as transportation, communications, movement control and procurement, and outside MSD with security and substantive offices. • Coordinates logistics, business intelligence and data analytics requirements with other UN, including UNHQ, and other organizations in the Mission, and Host Government entities. • Coordinates with relevant stakeholders on the development and implementation of data-driven projects to improve supply chain performance and operational planning. • Oversees the review and monitoring of business intelligence dashboards and Umoja data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with reporting standards. Coordinates with relevant units to address anomalies and discrepancies in a timely manner. • Ensures that supervised staff are adequately trained and cross-trained; identifies additional training needs to achieve high working standards. • Ensures that logistics requirements take account of gender-specific needs. • Performs other related duties as required by the Chief, Performance Management Section. Proven analytical skills in Business Intelligence, including the ability to analyze data, develop recommendations for under-performance areas, as well as review and edit the work of others. EducationAdvanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in supply chain management, logistics, engineering, statistics, information systems, mathematics, or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Job - Specific QualificationCertification in project management methodology such as PRINCE2 or PMP or equivalent and supply chain (SCOR-P, CSCP or equivalent) management practices is desirable. Work ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in surface and/or air transport, logistics operations in military, commercial or international organizations, or a related area is required. Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), e.g., SAP ECC (ERP Central Component), UMOJA Analytics, or SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) is desirable. Experience in a conflict or post-conflict environment is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required.
