    To provide specialized support functions and perform standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities

    ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

    This position is based in Port Sudan and reports to the Head of Commodity Accounting.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

    Provide support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.

    • Provide support to all LESS users and ensure technical issues are resolved timely or escalated to the HQ Logistics support team and real time transactions maintained.
    • Ensure data integrity and transactions are carried out in real time. Request for justification for backlogs where necessary to identify challenges and preferred solution in consultation with the Head of Commodity Accounting.
    • Ensure Physical Inventory Count is performed timely, recorded and cleared in all locations on or before 5th of every month.
    • Monitor commodity Best Before Date and Terminal Date of Disbursement, while following up with all locations to ensure commodities are dispatched/consumed before expiration.
    • In case of damaged/unfit commodities, follow up to ensure necessary steps are taken and commodity status is converted to Unfit for Human Consumption in the system.
    • Monitor stock in transit and follow up to ensure receipts confirmation for commodity delivered to CP and within WFP and following up on any anomalies.
    • Coordinate with the Logistics CP management team in rolling out and monitoring LESS Last Mile implementation. Provide trainings to WFP staff and CPs as needed. Regularly monitor compliance and address issues in implementation as they arise.
    • Support with cross-functional alignment of data systems (LESS, COMET, SCOPE, In-Kind Solution).
    • Record and monitor offline movements and ensure SOPs are being adhered to.
    • Track lootings and theft and ensure all transactions are posted timely along with necessary documentation.
    • Track corridor movements and liaise with other COs/RBs on data alignment.
    • Conduct regular data quality checks on all LESS transactions.
    • Monitor open items (STOs, OBDs/IBDs, production orders, etc.) and ensure timely closure.
    • Build capacity of LESS users through regular refresher trainings and as the need arises.
    • Ensure best use of new enhancements in LESS (by way of guidance, materials, trainings, etc.) and provide prompt feedback on any issues faced.
    • Use corporate tools (DOTS/PRISMA) for planning and decision making while ensuring data in LESS is aligned with DOTS.
    • Provide necessary inputs for decision making to management through timely and accurate reports.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.


      QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


      Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.


      Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work
