Work LocationGeneva, Switzerland Expected duration3-6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the overall supervision of the Head of GITSU, and in coordination with the IMTS Intranet focal point, the intern will: • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of improvements to the GITSU intranet pages based on the SharePoint platform. • Collect, classify, and publish relevant information related to IT services provided by the Information Management and Technology Section (IMTS). • Support the identification, launch, and adoption of new tools and platforms that foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and peer-to-peer support across the organization. • Assist in creating and editing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility for OHCHR staff globally. • Provide technical and communication support to ensure intranet pages remain user-friendly, relevant, and up to date. Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of: • Information Technology, Information Management, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. • Demonstrated knowledge of communication over intranet platforms based on SharePoint technology. • Familiarity with knowledge management, information architecture, and digital content organization. • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of another UN language is an asset. • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and capacity to translate technical content into clear, user-friendly messages.
