However, significant inequalities in energy access persist patrially due to products being unaffordable for marginalised population groups. Through its component Energy Access through Demand-Side Subsidies (DSS), Energising Development (EnDev) is piloting DSS mechanisms to promote access to subsidised solar home systems or improved / clean cookstoves for marginalised households (incl. refugees and host communities), while minimising market distortion and encouraging collaboration with the private sector. About EnDev: The EnDev partnership is a joint results-oriented global programme of Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland. EnDev's objective is to provide access to modern energy services for households, social institutions as well as small and medium sized enterprises. EnDev is active in 20+ countries in Africa and Asia.
During your internship you'll have the following tasks:
Supporting EnDev with the implementation of the DSS pilots across Liberia, Malawi, Niger and Uganda Assisting in the documentation and development of lessons learned from each of the DSS pilots Supporting the development and implementation of DSS studies and evaluations Contributing to the exchange with international stakeholders on demand-side subsidies Assisting with the development and design of communication materials Supporting day-to-day project activities, with potential for involvement in additional EnDev activitiesGIZ is a signatory of the Diversity Charter.
