Work LocationLima Expected duration6 MESES Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe UN Resident Coordinator system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. The 2018 UN reform delinked the Resident Coordinator system from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and invigorated the authority and neutrality of Resident Coordinators. I Lima, the Office of the Resident Coordinator coordinates the 22 Agencies, Funds and Programmes. The internship in the RCO Peru will last 6 months. Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an \"as-needed\" basis. • The candidate will provide direct support to the Team Leader and/or assigned national officers for the development of the activities,the tasks included will be: • Support the coordination of United Nations activities in Peru, including assistance in organizing meetings, workshops, and events. • Conduct research and analysis on key development issues in Peru, with a focus on topics relevant to the SDGs. • Assist in drafting reports, briefs, and other communication materials on UN initiatives and achievements. • Provide support in maintaining databases, filing systems, and other administrative tasks as needed. • Assist in liaising with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other partners to facilitate collaboration an information exchange. • Participate in team meetings and other relevant activities of the RCO Qualifications/special skillsThe basic education required is HS Diploma. To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). For this internship, studies in the area of International Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Economy or Sociology is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English is required.
